Frequently asked questions
Everything about design plans, credits, the Finishing Labs, and your account. Something broken? Report a bug and it goes straight to our support inbox.
Getting started
What is Realmatize?
Realmatize turns a photo of your space and a request ("add a reading corner with a floor lamp") into a shoppable design plan: a photorealistic image of your room with the change made, where everything new maps to a real, buyable product — each with its live price and a link to the retailer. The plan totals what it would cost to actually do it.
What photos work best?
JPG, PNG, HEIC, or WebP up to 20 MB. A straight-on, well-lit photo that shows the whole area you want to change gives the best results. Phone photos are fine — HEIC from an iPhone works directly.
Do I need an account?
You can watch the pre-generated sample demos without one. Creating a design plan from your own photo, using the Finishing Labs, and saving projects require an account with an active plan.
Credits & plans
What is a credit?
A credit is one image generation at default settings. A design plan's main render uses credits, and so do adjustments (each adjustment is a fresh generation). Higher output resolutions and the Imaginative engine use more credits per image because they cost more to produce.
Failed runs are refunded automatically — you're only charged for work that completes.
What plans are there?
- Starter — $9/month: 10 credits, up to 3 projects.
- Pro — $24/month: 40 credits, up to 10 projects, and the Imaginative engine for bolder, more artistic redesigns.
- Studio — $59/month: 120 credits, up to 25 projects, the Imaginative engine, and 2K/4K output resolutions.
Current prices and everything each plan includes are always shown on the main page.
Do unused credits roll over?
No — credits reset each billing month. If you run out mid-month, one-time credit top-ups are available from the billing page on any active plan; top-up credits apply to the current month.
I need more project slots.
A project pack adds 5 project slots on top of your plan's cap for a small monthly fee, and can be cancelled independently of your plan from the billing portal.
The Finishing Labs
What are the Finishing and Landscaping Labs?
Idea explorers. The Interior Finishing Lab tries colors on your walls, ceilings, doors, cabinets and counters, adds or removes trim, and changes the fabric of bedding, curtains and furniture. The Exterior Finishing Lab recolors siding, doors, shutters and trim, and swaps door and window styles. The Landscaping Lab transforms your outdoor space — lawn, flower beds, trees and shrubs, paths, lighting and garden features. Everything defaults to "No change" — pick only what you want to see different, and your picks build into a summary you can edit before visualizing.
Lab renders are idea visualizations — they don't match products or build a shopping list. Save one to a project and continue it on the design-plan page to make it shoppable.
Can I use my own colors and materials?
Yes. Beyond the built-in palettes you can pick any custom color, or upload a photo of a color, fabric, or texture you love — a paint chip, a linen swatch, a door you saw on a walk. Up to 6 of your requested changes can each carry their own photo, and the engine applies each photo's look to the thing you attached it to.
What do lab renders and suggestions cost?
A lab render is a single image generation and costs half a plan render at your settings, starting at 1 credit. The "analyze my room" suggestions cost 1 credit and return three tailored ideas that fill in the lab's controls when you tap them.
Results & accuracy
Are the images accurate?
They're AI visualizations — great for judging whether an idea works in your space, but not construction documents or color-accurate proofs. Always sample real paint and order fabric swatches before committing.
Where do the products and prices come from?
From real retailers, matched best-effort to what the design shows — visually where possible, by description otherwise. Prices are pulled live when the plan is made and can change at the retailer afterward. When no good match exists for an item, the plan says so rather than showing a lookalike.
Account & billing
How do I cancel or change my plan?
From the billing portal, linked on your account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan and remaining credits stay active until the end of the paid period. Our refund policy covers the details.
What happens to my photos?
Photos you upload are used to generate your results and are stored with your saved projects; deleting a project (or your account) deletes its photos. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
